Charlie Copeland is President of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Prior to becoming ISI’s President, he served for six years on the Institute’s Board of Trustees, including three years as Secretary-Treasurer. Charlie spent more than two decades as President of Associates International Inc., growing the company from a nine-person operation into an internationally recognized direct marketing firm. Charlie is a prominent community leader in ISI’s home state of Delaware. From 2002 through 2008 he served as a Delaware State Senator, rising to the position of Senate Minority Leader. During his service, he emerged as a leading voice for government accountability, education reform, and criminal justice reform. Charlie serves as Board Chair of the Longwood Foundation, and cofounded and serves as President of the Board of the Challenge Program, a nonprofit organization that trains at-risk youth in construction skills. He holds a BS and an MBA from Duke University.
